When I activate Vanilla Forum plugin - Our comments count appear as "No Comments", when we do have a list of comments, When I disable Vanilla Forum Comments - the comments count appears as normal.

Can you suggest a fix?

Badges and jsConnect

Is there any way to control/add badges when using jsConnect to manage users with an external database? I'm about to bring in a community of 14,837 accounts, and I really don't want to manually put badges on each of them. :-)

I'd like to just put something like "badges":"my-slug-1,my-slug-15" in the JSON I send back and have that control which of my custom badges are or aren't on that user (with the exception of things like "Photogenic" that Vanilla grants procedurally). Is this possible?

Since I can't do a paywall I'd like to at least add adverting banners to my forum. Is this possible?
If yes - how and where can I post ad banners?

When a user logs in, their comment is lost. How can we fix this?

A user is allowed to comment prior to registration or sign-in, but then once they complete their comment and click "Comment As..." to register/sign-in, their comment is lost. See images below for example and user complaint.

Is there a way to fix this? Even if it's as simple as not allowing comments unless logged in, that is fine.

Issue with Creating New Badges

How to limit user role editing?

I have assigned our CS people a CS Admin role that has limited privileges so they can't mess with site settings, but they can edit users and roles. We need them to be able to do this, however, it allows them to change their own role to full Admin through the dashboard. Is there any way we can let them edit users and roles but not allow them to change to admin?

Can you fix our Register button?

Vanilla Comment Integration

Hello,

When I activate Vanilla Comment Integration, for all live posts/pages - we get "Comment Closed", and no one can comment using the Wordpress comments or Vanilla Comment.

I than launched test posts/pages and i got the same issue "Comments Closed"

I than removed the Vanilla Comment Integration and it went back to normal.

How do I get around the "Comments Closed" issue and use Vanilla Comments on my blog?

Facebook Sign In for Existing Forum Members

We have just enabled our Facebook plug in. We have found that for some existing users - their Facebook email address and Facebook password are not working when they click "Sign in with Facebook".

The Facebook password is not accepted.They have to provide their existing ELMS password in the Facebook log in box to sign in.

Enabling the Facebook Sign in Feature

Hello,

We are working on enabling our Facebook Sign in Feature. I went through the steps to create a developer account, created the app, the website to link the requested URL, the graphics and submitted the application.

The initial comment was:

"Your App Detail page is live and available in search. Your app does not have enough high ratings and user engagement to be approved for listing in the App Center at this time. Please view our App Center Guidelines for more information."

Does anyone have enough experience to know what this means? Is this suggesting Facebook will not enable the plug in?

We just got this comment from a user:

Hi,
When I edit my profile in these newly updated user forums I have found a minor bug.
When adding facebook, twitter and website links to my profile the twitter option does not require the full link to my profile (i.e. http://www) just my username, however this means the resulting link on my publicly viewable zenfolio page opens in the same window, not in a new tab, as per the behaviour of the facebook and website links.
I thought I would report this in the hope they can all be made to work the same; all to 'Open in a new tab'

When I use post-by-email, and have Vanilla notify me by email of new posts, the address (entered as acvim@email.vanillaforums.com ) shows up in the header as thus:

it seems to work well enough - replies show up in the thread - but i'm auditing this for an association of medical professionals, so it needs to look professional, too. ideas?

p.s. the 'Add information into the from field in email addresses to help with replies (recommended).' box is checked. when it's not checked, we don't get a reply-to email address at all.

Comments and discussion counters not working on homepage

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can shine any light on this issue. When using the "Categories" page for the Homepage, the number of discussions and comments doesn't update at all. We had a large increase in traffic today, and they seemed to cease working completely then. Prior to today, when I was posting any test comments/discussions, the counter did update to reflect the number correctly. It seems logical to presume the boost in traffic caused something odd to happen.

As a workaround we switched to the "Discussions" page for the Homepage, and the discussion & comment counters displayed on that page are working correctly. However the categories list in the sidepanel of the page, the counters there are not updating, and staying the same as the "Categories" page!

Any suggestions or insight would be much appreciated!
