Hmm. We upgraded our embed technology and forgot to update this example site. It's updated now!
  • You guys are awesome!! :)
  • Tried this, but it says "Uh-oh! You have some relative urls in your code. You'll need to change them to absolute urls for them to work."

    What should I do?

also, does this mean I have to keep my entire site on the Embed Vanilla Theme, or is this just to get the code?
  • Hi @shedoesitall, could you specify where you're getting that error message?

All instance of your forum will share the same theme so if you want the Embed Theme on Facebook, your main site will be using it too.
  • It comes in the area where you have to put in the code stuff.

Just to clarify, this basically means that if I have another theme, I cannot embed on Facebook?
  • @shedoesitall It means that your site and the Facebook embedded site will share the same theme.

I'm still not sure where you mean - on the Facebook website? That error means it wants you to add the full URL (for example: "http://example.com/discussions" instead of just "/discussions") but that shouldn't be a problem in our embed code.
  • Oh ok, so I do not have to put the "embed" theme on to have a Facebook page with the embedded forum? Sorry, I'm a bit of a beginner with this stuff.

Right, the embed-friendly theme works better for embedding but it isn't required.
  • Hi Lincoln,

I see I must have been copying some odd codes that time, as it was a page full of code! I just found the embed section, and pasted the short code and all is well.

One question though: I cant seem to see the option mentioned about removing the sidebar. Because of this, the forum embeds on the FB page but has the right side missing (which is where the latest discussions are, and the page numbers). Any idea how I can fix this?
  • Howdy, I believe the sidebar automatically gets hidden if the page width is too narrow to accomodate it and the main content comfortably. However, this shouldn't effect the page numbers because those are part of the main content. Are you able to take a screenshot or link me to this Facebook page?
