Facebook ID Capture/Moderator Badges?

Hi, Vanilla:

First, I just want to say that while I initially didn't care for the new layout, I'm really liking it now, especially the new plug-ins! Most importantly, our community members are enjoying them as well!

However, there is one issue that's truly annoying. The poster who begins a discussion shows with no Facebook ID next to their name. It may not seem like a big deal, but it is, especially after I have to go to their profile, get the ID, and then go back, only to realize the big, long answer I typed out didn't save. :( Is there any way that the discussion-starter's ID can just pop up like the subsequent posters?

It also looks like an old issue, with not all admins able to see posters' Facebook IDs, may be occurring as well.

Also, we're adding a few community members as moderators. I'd like to ask about the following:

1. Special badges for these folks, as well as a special admin badge so we all stand out.
2. Could you also guide me to the option to disable mods' abilities to see private messages between rank-and-file members and between the admins and members?

Finally, one more issue with the new layout--our discussions often involve a ton of pages, and the emoticon icon often covers either the arrow or the page numbers.

Howdy @CasinoMaster, glad you've warmed up to the new layout!

The Facebook ID looks like a bug. We'll get that sorted out.

Special badges next to the names of moderators and admins isn't a standard feature, so that would be a customization. I'll have our project manager contact you about getting that done.

The permission to view others' private messages is the only checkbox in the "Conversations" block of permissions (Conversations -> Moderation -> Manage). Uncheck that for all roles.

Thanks for the response! Received an e-mail about the custom badges and we'll definitely think about it. :)

Also, thanks for checking out the bug with the FB IDs. So we're on the same page, is the bug both with the ID not showing with the first poster, or also with the admin view?

One more thing--it looks like that box was already unchecked. I'll see if the mods are still able to read the conversations.

Hi @CasinoMaster, I tracked down the FacebookID problem. On TravelQuest and LuckyCruise, admins did not have the proper permission assigned. This is now fixed.

Edited to state that Lucky Cruise still isn't repaired. I'll check the other forums. Also, do these permissions change themselves? Admins not seeing IDs has occurred before, despite permissions being properly set and not changed.

No, permissions do not change automatically. In this case, the primary admin would've been able to see them, but not additional admins. It was correctly set on Spartacus, but not the others.

Apologies for the delay in response.

The additional admins were unable to see the info. As they are the designers and engineers, well, this is useful. :) As of now, it looks like it is repaired for one team member. I'll let you know this is occurs again. Thanks for your help!
