Hello,
I am evaluating your forum software. How do I activate photo upload ... basically all the buttons I see in this post?

My test forum does not have those.

Thank You,

So I guess the reason why I do not see options to upload photos is because I have chosen the basic $49/month option?

Do I really have to pay $149 to be able to upload photos and provide user friendly html link encoding ?

just answering my own questions here as I poke through your web site. Please correct me though if I am wrong about something. - - - so I can actually download VF and then install it on my hosted web site and if I do I will have the options for photo upload ?

For example - on Go Daddy they say that their hosting includes Vanilla Forum - is the Go Daddy version already allowing photo uploads ?

    Thanks

Howdy @rbraun, yes, FileUpload is part of the additional addons available on the Advanced Plan. However, if you only need an extra addon or 2 I have no issue turning them on, so I've enabled the File Upload addon for you.

Yes, both those other options allow you to run any plugin you like. However, they also do not come with support & maintenance and do not scale like vanillaforums.com hosting. Reactions & badges are not currently open source either.
  • So do I need to upgrade to the next plan to allow image uploads?
  • @swordsofmight File uploads (and many additional plugins) are available at the Advanced level and above. However, if file uploads is the only additional plugin you need, I'll turn it on for you even at a lower plan level. We're not trying to nickel-and-dime for individual features, it's that there is significantly increased likelihood of support requests and questions as more and more plugins are enabled.
  • hi Lincoln, i would like to activate the file uploads in my hosting, and another question, how can i select the language as English or Spanish in my forum? thankyou very much for your help

Howdy, I've turned on File Uploads for you, and I've turned on Spanish (available as an option in the footer of your site). Did you want English or Spanish to be the default? It's currently still English.

In the future, go ahead and start a new discussion for a request. :)
  • @Lincoln - We had some members posting in the wrong discussion. We wanted to transfer those posts to the correct discussion but didn't find a way to achieve this. So, we decided to take some screen grabs and drop those into the correct place. Ahh but we cannot do that either without a URL, which we don't have because they aren't hosted anywhere else. I saw that you have turned-on the file upload for some users above. Could this be done for us please?
  • Hey @TheFirstEneKai,
I've enabled the File Upload plugin for you

    Thanks,
    Rasha
