A bit confusing.

Also, the new bolded in black pattern of unread thread/comment is not as clear as before.

I have also seen unread comments who were NOT BOLDED which was really odd...

I'll look into the comment count discrepancy.

We switched "new" styles because of multiple complaints about the sea of yellow "new" tags overwhelming new members. Now they only appear when you've previously viewed a discussion. Otherwise, they are only bold.

The inconsistency is due to a change in how we count comments. We've stopped counting the original post as +1 to the comment count, but the default value wasn't changed from 1 to 0. This will be fixed in the next release.
