Videos in our Forum need to be private, any suggestions?

We are a private community. We are beginning to create video tutorial and question and answer type videos for our members and want to keep them as a collection on the forum. Our videos are not terribly long (so far they range in time from 10 min-28 min.) Youtube is very easy to use for this, however the privacy options don't allow security. You can choose to have the video "unlisted", but then that link can then be copied and can go OUTSIDE our community, which is not what we have in mind.

Currently we have a work around, a box.com account and shared password for the community but this is again, not secure and very clunky and not working the way we want.

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance

  • Hi Julia, we don't have the ability to host streaming video like YouTube, Vimeo, Viddler, and related services. You can upload smaller video files to discussions that will obey your forum permissions, but they would need to be downloaded to be viewed.
  • Thanks so much Lincoln for your speedy reply.
Can you tell me what "smaller" means as far as file size? We are not filmmakers so quality is not as important as information...we might be able to compress, etc, lower quality, but what size is optional or allowed?

    Thanks
  • The maximum allowed file size for uploads is 50 mb.
