Hi There,

We are getting the following error message when we click on the Disqus button on the login page:
invalid Invalid Request: Invalid parameter: redirect_uri

Please can you look into it. We'll disable the add-on for the time being.

Regards,
iPhoneHacks Team

  • Any updates on this issue?
  • Howdy, it looks like Disqus has changed their API which has caused a problem with that plugin. We're looking into it.
  • Any ETA on when it will be fixed.
  • As quickly as possible. :) This week for sure.

Hi @iphonehacks, can you verify that you've added your domains to the "Domains" text box under Settings? It's under the application you registered here: http://disqus.com/api/applications/

You might also try entering 'vanillaforums.com' to make sure there isn't an issue related to using a custom domain.

I cannot find a bug in the plugin related to this and it's still functioning correctly on other sites. If you confirm you have your domain correctly whitelisted as mentioned above, let us know. The only other possibility I see is a API versioning conflict for newer Disqus accounts and we'd need to contact their help staff to confirm that.
  • @Lincoln we've added vanillforums.com to Domains. We also have added iphonehacks.com.

However, now we don't see the Disqus addon in the Dashboard. So there is a no way to test if it works.
  • Howdy, I've re-enabled it for you and it looks like it's working. Give it a shot and let us know.
  • @Lincoln it's working ... thanks .. why do we get a prompt to enter the email address when we signup for the first time.
  • @iphonehacks It's to see if there's already an existing forum account to merge with (e.g. if the same person used the Facebook login and later used the Disqus login, it will make sure they both lead to the same account).
