community.hilahcooking.com is down as well. It went down as soon as we announced it to our audience and mailing list. Hugely embarrassing.
I don't get it. We haven't been signed up for long but so far the experience has been horrible. I have to find some kind of forum solution that works well and I don't know what to do now.
Terribly sorry for this downtime. We are investigating right now and the status page has been updated. It did not trigger our normal internal alerts possibly because it's limited to only certain forums using a particular database server; obviously this needs to improve so we can respond immediately.
All forums are back online. One of our database servers was behaving improperly. Forums using that server were effectively down, but the database server did not show as down to our monitoring software. We are improving our monitoring detection to prevent this from happening again.
After further investigation, we found Rackspace had improperly migrated the database server in question. This is a similar situation to what caused downtime a week ago. We are following up with them to demand all cloud server migrations cease until they can be further tested.
