Sr. Account Executive

Vanilla is searching for a proven sales performer to help us increase our market share in the SMB and Fortune 500 markets.

The ideal candidate is someone who can articulate the value of a SaaS based solution and possess a proven track record selling into SMB and Fortune 500 accounts. The position is based out of Ottawa or Montreal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Successfully manage prospects through a strategic milestone based sales process
  • Package and present proposals and business documentation to C-level executives
  • Manage a sales funnel to ensure accurate forecasting of sales revenue
  • Consistently meet and exceed aggressive monthly and annual quotas
  • Deliver solution based and client centric sales messaging
  • Present high impact product demonstrations using GoToMeeting

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience selling SaaS or web based applications
  • Strong document packaging and presenting skills
  • Prior experience forecasting and managing accounts in salesforce.com
  • Knowledge of basic mobile technologies
  • Knowledge of basic HTML and CSS
  • Highly proficient with Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience selling community management or forum technologies
  • Proven history of managing deals north of $50K
  • Solid understanding of contract and procurement processes
  • Capable of targeting strategic accounts through outbound messaging
  • Comfortable working towards team based goals and targets

Data Migration Engineer (PHP, MySQL)

Vanilla is looking for a hard working individual who wants to join a profitable and rapidly growing SaaS startup. We have the best forum product on the market, an incredible list of customers to match, and we're looking for someone to help us migrate customers from legacy platforms to Vanilla.

Preference will be given to candidates in Montreal. Remote work will be considered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Migrate data from legacy forum products such as vBulletin to Vanilla
  • Maintain and develop the Vanilla Porter migration tool
  • Create new tools to automate repetitive migration tasks
  • Troubleshoot migration issues, often after hours

Requirements:

  • MySQL experience writing moderately complex, scalable queries
  • Data / platform migration or database schema design experience
  • Good writing & documentation skills
  • PHP experience with basic OOP
  • Basic knowledge of CSV, JSON, and XML formats
  • Detail-oriented ability to QA own work
  • Ability to research & troubleshoot unfamiliar problems
  • Self-sufficient and able to work unsupervised
  • Experience using / administrating forums

  • Create custom themes for our customers
  • Create new base themes for our product
  • Update amd maintain Vanilla's websites

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to Vanilla’s product roadmap by building new features and fixing bugs
