Front End (React) Developer

We’re looking for a frontend developer with Javascript framework experience to help us continue our product’s evolution as we increasingly incorporate React to offer a first-class web application experience to our customers. As part of our R&D (product) department, you will work in a team with 2-4 other developers to develop new products and features, enhance existing functionality, update existing architecture, and prioritize maintenance work to be done.

You would participate in regular planning meetings, brief daily team huddles, and regular demos of your team’s work as part of our scrum process. As part of a growing company, you will regularly be presented with novel problems and need to work with and assist folks outside your team or outside the company. You may occasionally consult on solutions for individual customers, or interact with our open source community.

Requirements

  • 2+ years frontend Javascript experience.
  • Experience using React with Redux (or equivalent systems) and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience regularly using a version control system (we use git).
  • Deep knowledge of Web technologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficient written & verbal English language skills.
  • Strong desire for guided self-study to rapidly increase expertise in this platform.
  • Ability to self-identify skills gaps and proactively ask for reasonable help and guidance.

Bonus

  • Experience using or moderating online discussion forums.
  • Experience setting up & working with frontend build tooling (Webpack, Babel).
  • Familiarity with scrum process.
  • Experience with PHP and/or MySQL.

Account Manager - Mid Market (Sales)

Based out of Ottawa, the candidate should have a demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding targets, have worked in a B2B SaaS-based sales role, and be able to separate him/her self from the competition. Support Agent (2nd shift)

We are looking for a motivated 2nd shift Support Agent to join our Customer Support team and help us improve our issue resolution workflow and efficiency.

As a Support Agent, your primary responsibility is to be a great communicator. Members of the Support team are Vanilla’s first point of contact for customers when they reach out for help. You will need to work effectively with several internal teams to identify and triage these issues, and then communicate solutions or status updates to the customer.

As a 2nd Shift agent you will begin the job working within office hours and then be moved to covering our off hours. We are looking for self-sufficient candidates that will be excited to find new tasks, communicate with clients, and improve workflows while working independently. If you have curiousness about software and an interest in navigating technical issues, this position will reward you with fresh challenges and a need to think critically.

We’re a highly collaborative team of people that love what we do. Our open plan office format encourages us to talk through solutions and brainstorm often, and we’re looking for someone that will actively participate in that kind of environment.

B2B Digital Marketing Specialist

Vanilla Forums is looking for an experienced Digital Marketing Specialist to join our marketing team in our Montreal office to help drive demand of Vanilla Forums and build pipeline for our growing sales team. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you are responsible for driving strategy through execution on digital advertising channels, with a focus on increasing B2B user acquisition and digital engagement. You will have a desire to improve performance and make data-driven decisions that propel the direction of marketing initiatives. You are a versatile self-starter, you’re able to find new and innovative ways to generate demand from within our target accounts using performance marketing. You are able to move from campaign planning to the minutiae of tracking the performance of individual ads and keywords effectively. You operate with creativity, enthusiasm, meticulous attention to detail, and have exceptional mastery of reports and identifying opportunities and optimizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Devise strategies to drive online traffic to the company website and lead the PPC and digital paid media strategy.
  • Deploy and manage ad campaigns on search engines, display and social media (set up, tracking, optimizations, analysis, expansion, etc.)
  • Recommend or implement improvements to ads copy, display banners and landing pages as needed.
  • Propose, implement and manage new ad buying initiatives and other sources of customer acquisition.
  • Responsibility for planning and budgetary control of all digital marketing.
