Account Manager (Sales)

Vanilla is searching for a proven sales performer to help us build our business. The ideal candidate is someone who can articulate the value of a SaaS based solution and possess a proven track record selling into SMB and Fortune 500 accounts. The position is based out of Ottawa or Montreal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Successfully manage prospects through a strategic milestone based sales process
  • Package and present proposals and business documentation to C-level executives
  • Manage a sales funnel to ensure accurate forecasting of sales revenue
  • Consistently meet and exceed aggressive monthly and annual quotas
  • Deliver solution based and client centric sales messaging
  • Present high impact product demonstrations using GoToMeeting

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience selling SaaS or web based applications
  • Strong document packaging and presenting skills
  • Prior experience forecasting and managing accounts in salesforce.com
  • Knowledge of basic mobile technologies
  • Knowledge of basic HTML and CSS
  • Highly proficient with Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience selling community management or forum technologies
  • Proven history of managing deals north of $50K
  • Solid understanding of contract and procurement processes
  • Capable of targeting strategic accounts through outbound messaging
  • Comfortable working towards team based goals and targets
  • Able to achieve and exceed activity based metrics important to SaaS organizations

Lead Generation Specialist

Vanilla is looking for a smart, driven and hardworking inbound lead qualification specialists to help us continue growing our business. Tens of thousands of companies, including some of the world’s top brands, use Vanilla to create engaged communities. This is the perfect position for someone looking to start or re-boot a lucrative career in sales. Success in this position can quickly earn you a promotion to a team leader or account executive position.

Responsibilities:

  • Qualify all inbound leads within target SLAs.
  • Work the phone, email and social media to get through to the leads and qualify them. Talk time and phone calls are vital to the success of the role.
  • Communicate with leads to overcome objections and determine fit.
  • Update and append relevant lead information to keep records up to date.
  • Pre*call and email research through LinkedIn and Google.
  • Fine tune messaging and develop an understanding of lead’s business pains.
  • Log activity in CRM (Salesforce).
  • Hit or exceed activity and demo meeting objectives on a weekly basis.

Skills and personal traits:

  • Discipline to manage multiple inbound channels at the same time including live chat, email queues and phone.
  • Fearless in front of a challenge and aren’t afraid of rejection. You understand that no thanks just means not now, or I’m not the right person to talk to and see it as a challenge to push deeper into the organization.
  • Always curious, you love to learn about people’s businesses and their challenges. You are able to take their perspective and get them to talk about their business pains.
  • Ability to open doors and find the right stakeholders within organizations with live projects.
  • A confident, clear and succinct communication style.
  • Driven and willing to put in time and energy to meet your targets.

Customer Success Manager

Vanilla is looking for a full-time Customer Success Manager who will work with our customers to ensure that they achieve their goals using our platform, with the overall aim of reducing churn. This position involves a great deal of communication with Vanilla’s customers, both via email and on the phone. The successful candidate must be an excellent communicator and problem-solver, with a customer-focused attitude.

This position reports to the Manager of Customer Experience and is part of the Operations department.

We’re a highly collaborative team of people that love what we do. Our open office format allows us to talk through solutions and brainstorm often, and we’re looking for someone that will actively contribute in that kind of environment. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious, hard working individual looking to jump start a career in customer relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with customers to understand short and long term community goals.
  • Help customers achieve their business objectives by providing advice on best practices.
  • Provide ongoing product support to an existing subset of customers.
  • Reduce churn by solving problems and proactively ensuring customers are meeting their internal goals.
  • Onboard and train new customers to help them acclimate to the platform.

Skills and personal traits:

  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Great understanding of the web and web technologies, particularly online forums and online communities.
  • Outstanding people skills and diplomacy.
  • Fantastic problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage several different situations and customers on any given day.

  • Startups or freelancing.
  • Online community management/membership.
  • Multiple languages.
  • Basic HTML/CSS skills.
